New World--Benediction to Pope John Paul II

Amazing how over 40% of the world saw one man get buried today, simply because of the power of a righteous life combined with political and spiritual power. Karol Vojtyla/Pope John Paul II was a person who is unique in my lifetime, and my voice to describe him, though as a non-Catholic Christian, is pathetic and small. I'll just quote Shakespeare's Julius Caesar, where Mark Antony is at the place where Brutus, who had assasinated Caesar for his tyranny, had died after being defeated by Antony in battle, yet still admired Brutus: "This was the noblest Roman of all. His life was gentle, and the elements so mixed in him that the whole world must rise up and say, 'This was truly a man.' "

Amen. Johannes Paolo Secundum Magnus, rest you gentle, sleep you sound. We shall soon join you in the great rapture of all who love the Lord. Goodbye.

8-9 April 2005--11:58 pm--after midnight

It has been a day in which I am not very happy with certain things at home. There are some things changing, which I'll talk about tomorrow. I intended to talk about them today, but let's just say I have been pushed to change my mind. It is, to say the least, frustrating. I have not been able to market my ideas, my search for new business, to search for customers, my desire to share what I have learned about spirituality and the need for a relationship with God which I believe comes only through Jesus Christ. Everything is about the moment, the immediate need, the incessant railings of someone who, while I love, is continually wanting to change the subject, turn the page, rearrange the schedule. Who is willing to use shame, sarcasm, manipulation, and fear of retribution to turn me, someone whom the Bible says is supposed to be subject to my authority in my home.

She will regret the delay in achieving the very deliverance that she prays for, through her constant interference with my work. And while I will forgive her, I will remind her when the day comes, which I believe to be near.

Tomorrow.

7 April---2:15 am.

Johannes Paulus Secundus Magnus.

John Paul II the Great. I have much to say about it, but I will just refer to the column in today's Wall Street Journal by Peggy Noonan, a former speech writer for President Reagan and both Presidents Bush, who is today part of the editorial board of the Journal. Her article is nothing less than inspiring, in reminding us that the John Paul's stand against communism in Poland in June 1979 was the most powerful spiritual moment of the 20th century. For more you can click here.

The remarkable thing that I am seeing about his death is how deeply loved he was. John Paul's funeral has literally taken a city of 3 million souls and multiplied it at least threefold, and done without riots, or mass arrests, or even hardly an argument. The world is watching how Christians mourn their great men. Even to the last, he is an evangelist for Jesus Christ, in whose presence he now is basking with great joy.

I am going to be talking less about political and spiritual matters for awhile, after this week. My responsibilities to make more money in responsible ways are going to take up a lot more of my time. I hope that the use of this blog to get things done will work for me.

Later.

6 April 2005--Checking In.

Here I am. I am going to be using a lot more of this blog. I'll be with you tomorrow, or for that matter, later today (now 1:55 am in California). I have a lot to talk about, and a lot of links work to do. I'll talk to you later. Adios.
