Johannes Paulus Secundus Magnus.
John Paul II the Great. I have much to say about it, but I will just refer to the column in today's Wall Street Journal by Peggy Noonan, a former speech writer for President Reagan and both Presidents Bush, who is today part of the editorial board of the Journal. Her article is nothing less than inspiring, in reminding us that the John Paul's stand against communism in Poland in June 1979 was the most powerful spiritual moment of the 20th century. The remarkable thing that I am seeing about his death is how deeply loved he was. John Paul's funeral has literally taken a city of 3 million souls and multiplied it at least threefold, and done without riots, or mass arrests, or even hardly an argument. The world is watching how Christians mourn their great men. Even to the last, he is an evangelist for Jesus Christ, in whose presence he now is basking with great joy.
I am going to be talking less about political and spiritual matters for awhile, after this week. My responsibilities to make more money in responsible ways are going to take up a lot more of my time. I hope that the use of this blog to get things done will work for me.
Later.
